Regional datastore and dashboard


The Northern Regional Data Facility comprises provides both a catalogue of regional data that are available through out sister website; and provides a range of regional dashboard indicators of social and economic conditions.

Regional Datastore

Users can explore our extensive list of regional datapacks created and maintained by the ESRC Consumer Data Research Centre by visiting our DATASETS section. To download a datapack,please click on the download link, which will redirect you to the CDRC data portal where we manage access.

Regional datapacks are organised into 3 region types: Combined Authority, Sustainability and Transformation Partnership, and Local Enterprise Partnership. To view all regional datasets for each region type, please go to REGIONS section


Regional Dashboard

NRDF provides DASHBOARDS where different regional indicators can be visualised and compared. The dashboards provide graphic interfaces to a range of socio-economic including but not limited to income, housing, demographics, etc.

Each visualisation is based on data collected from different sources (listed on the left side bar each dashboard page) and can be downloaded as a datapack at the DATASETS section. Data are aggregated from postcode, OA, LSOA levels to regional levels using boundary maps/lookups.

Liverpool City Region - Combined Authority

The Liverpool City Region is governed by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and its constituent councils.

The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority was established on 1 April 2014 and the membership includes the Liverpool City Region Metro Mayor, five local authority leaders of Halton, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral Councils, the elected Mayor of Liverpool City Council and the Chair of the Local Enterprise Partnership. Greater Manchester - Fixed Broadband Stats (2016)

This chart presents basic statistics of Fixed-Broadband connections, including average upload/download speed and data usage, within the Greater Manchester Combined Authority region in 2016, based on Ofcom's Connected Nations Report Data.

Greater Manchester - Population % with 2015 IMD of lowest 10%

This chart presents the percentage of population by age groups that have a 2015 IMD score (at LSOA level) in the lowest 10% within the Greater Manchester Combined Authority region.

Greater Manchester Combined Authority

The GMCA is made up of the ten Greater Manchester councils and Mayor, who work with other local services, businesses, communities and other partners to improve the city-region.

The ten councils (Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan) have worked together voluntarily for many years on issues that affect everyone in the region, like transport, regeneration, and attracting investment. (Source)
